Assessing the quality of works beforehand is tricky because the real test only begins once the project starts.

But… there are ways to mitigate risks and help you make an informed decision:

1. Look at Reviews

Fake Reviews are rampant. Facebook is our preferred source of truth for its neutrality. Plus, you can easily check if reviewers are real people e.g. account activity, no. of friends, profile photo, account creation date etc. Google Reviews comes in 2nd but it is harder to spot fake reviews there.

4. Ask them how they Manage their Sub-Contractors

Although it is the IDs job to project manage, they are mostly under the mercy of the Sub-Contractors who are executing the work.

Reliable IDs usually have their own ‘dream team’ of sub-contractors whom they trust and have great rapport with; They shouldn’t display hesitation to share about how they work with their sub-contractors.

5. Ask for samples of their workmanship

Most credible renovators would have anticipated this question and have no qualms in providing proof e.g. bringing you to view show flats/completed projects, showroom, ongoing projects etc.
